What People Say

Our attendees consistently praise Enabled2Parent's disability parenting CPD courses across England and Wales for their depth, interactivity, and impact on professional development.

I am a disabled-mum-to be going through a complicated medical situation....

I already considered myself disabled before, however, a serious spinal condition was discovered in my third trimester and spinal fusion surgery was recommended for not long after birth to avoid further damage - a surgery which would drastically alter my physical capacity to care for my newborn during recovery, without adaptations.

Yet, I'd been really struggling to advocate for a proper plan in place ahead of time via council or hospital to support me after birth - I contacted Sarah with only two weeks to go. I'm so glad I found Enabled 2 Parent!

Sarah jumped into action so fast, in was incredible! Within days - she'd spoken to both me and my partner on Zoom, followed up with emails, supported me in drafting and writing up a disability care plan with specific recommendations for hospital and my ACDF surgery, talked directly with my midwife to make sure my plan would be digitally available as well as making several referrals on my behalf to local services and sharing really valuable advice in general.

It was incredible by how quick she grasped the urgency and specifics of my situation but also I really appreciated her calm, practical, positive attitude. It made me feel like we'd figure this out! And it made me and my partner supported in a very overwhelming lonely situation. Sarah says she will continue to work with me post birth and post spine surgery as my needs become more concrete and apparent.

This charity and charities like it are so needed for disabled parents falling through the cracks of a system that doesn't imagine our existence! Thank you for doing what you do, Sarah/Enabled2Parent.

Sarah helped me get a referral to adults after years of trying....

I'm finally getting rails in and steps out to my back garden built where previously was a death trap. She provided advice on tools to help with parenting and emotional support when having difficulties with medical coercion whilst pregnant.
